xj vm problems
Hi guys my td XJ starts and runs for 5-10 seconds then shuts off only does it sometimes unplug the battery leave it for 5 minutes plug it back in right to go. Can't figure out what is causing this. Also have a suspected blown head not sure yet but the two rear cylinder glow plugs come out wet the front two dry and have a pretty large oil leak coming from around the manifold head area any suggestions please as I really want to keep the old girl running she is a great rig. Also starter spins but does not engage straight away it will free spin then click then she is engaged this is a new starter the old one did the same thing.
As I keep saying to my fellow yoda and nissan mates Jeeps are a solid offroad toy and I am willing to to keep pushing forward as I am handy with a spanner.

Hi:
I'm rebuilding a Range Rover Classic 2.5Td, 1992, 2doors.
Digging around google about a overheating problem after my VM rebuild found this awesome thread.
Very, very good techicnal stuff and great atmosphere.
It's really hard to find foruns and posts with this level, usually everybody give theirs two cents but without any real knowledge.
Congrats, real good stuff, i will keep looking the thread and the forum.
If only i own a Jeep, instead a RR and certanly could find some help over here.
Sorry for my poor english.
Best regards and, please, keep this excellent work.
Pedro

AFAIK the newer VM 2.8 that is in the KJ is basically the same externally as the VM2.5 ??
Has anybody contemplated transplanting the VM 2.8 into a TD XJ ?? Is the VM 2.8 an improvement on the 2.5 ?
