I used power director 12 for a bit because it was supposed to be the easiest to use.

I then tried the free version of light works. I really like this one and it's free. It's meant to be hard to use so I spent time on the tutorial videos. I find it not that hard to use. I'll continue using it. The free version does have some limitations but maybe try it out.

My first video post to the forum was produced using light works.

Just a quick update for anyone who might be interested.

I ended up getting Wondershare Video Editor. I got the free trial and made up a video from all the clips and still picks that I took on my recent trip to Byfield NP. After watching the instructional video on you-tube it all looked really easy but when I started I found it necessary to have the you-tube tutorial open in a separate tab and constantly referring to it.
The final product took me about 7 hours to make, probably because of the fact that I am techno challenged rather than the program being difficult to use. I went to upload it to my you-tube channel and discovered that it was not a compatible format so had to convert it to an alternative format which took ages. Upon completion of the re-format I got a message saying that because I did it with a free trial program there is a watermark over the entire video. So, I had to buy the program, only $19.99, and then once registered I had to re-do the format conversion to get a video with no watermark.
Obviously my next attempt will not be so troublesome and I hope to be able to introduce other editing elements such as better transition between scenes and also overlaying some music.
The video is pretty long at a bit over 15 minutes but I hope it is worth your time to watch. I hope you enjoy my first attempt at video editing and invite any feedback on any tricks of the trade that might improve my videos in the future
