Need some help please. My dad's XJ has been having some brake issues in the last couple of weeks. The problem to start with was drivers side front disc partially siezing and therefore creating a huge amount of heat.So we get both the front brake calipers overhauled, chuck in some new brake pads and drove it for a while.
Considerabley better but still the brakesare getting pretty hot.Up around 70 degrees, is this a normal disc brake operating temp??
Dad thinks not, so was having a look at some other brake componantes today and discovered the brake booster is creating bugger all pressure.Need a new brake booster.$1,000 genuine from work, no go!!
Bursons and Repco don't want any part of it.Called the brakes shop that overhauled the calipers, they can get a kit (hopefully) to overhaul the brake booster, but we are still waiting to hear back from them.
So, I'm just wondering what you guys have done in the past when you have had a similar problem??Trying to do this on the cheap as dad's a pensioner.Any idea's would be great
