Default Opening Tailgate immobiliser faulty

How can I open my tailgate as my remote locking is not working from the key pad I have replaced the batteries and reprogrammed according instructions in the handbook but my central locking wont lock or unlock the car. After manually opening with key I can get all doors open but not the tailgate. Can anyone help

I had to do similar a little while back.
From memory, pop the little cover off inside the tailgate (to the passenger side of centre) and poke your finger in there. There's a lever/switch which if pushed one way will lock the tailgate, the other way unlocks it.
Sorry about being a little vague
A bit of mucking around and you should get it.

Cheers,
Ruffy.

It's likely to be the solenoid, once you get the tailgate open you can check the operation of the solenoid.

LOL. No, my problem was a flat battery and my tools live in the back

If the tailgate doesn't unlock it's very likely that the tailgate lock mechanism failed. The solenoid is inside that. Plenty of aftermarket options on ebay and even on rockauto.
