Default How's your insurance

Since I am considering getting a 2003 Grand Limited 2.7L Turbo Diesel I thought I would call some insurance get a few quotes.
Some place was willing to charge me $5070 bucks just for insurance!
While the cheapest is about $2602.
One of the more expensive places told me my insurance was even higher because some asshole ran into my car last year and I did nothing wrong, but that still put up my insurance!

So what does it cost you guys for your insurance on your Grand?

No 19. They Say young people who have a 4wd get more expensive insurnace, and because I'm young I get higher insurance anyways because I'm obviously a hoon, who races my fast Diesel 4x4 away from every set of lights and gets sideways on every corner.

I have an excess of $1200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A standard excess of 600 plus young driver Excess of 600.

********ing crimminals

Not all young drivers are shit.
Today I did a defensive driving course and after the whole "Speed to over 60, brake, swerve, miss cones, stop in the wet" manouver, the driving instructor came up to the car window and asked me if I had done this course before because I was apparently pretty good at it. Which I have never done. I do enjoy driving and drive a fair bit, but never done any driving course. About half of my work mates ended up hitting some cones, while some did it at 30 Km/h or less.

If I may say, I was better then some people with 15-20 years or more driving experience. Shows that not every P plater is some half wit who has no idea whats going on.
All my work mates were giving me shit about being a P plater and said they gonna get out of way and stand right back and wouldn't be in the car with me when I did it, but I showed all them up! Well a lot of them. I'm not talking myself up just saying not all p platers are shit drivers.

$580 for 00 WJ.
Crazy thing is a mate of mine pays similar for a 07 JK unlimited.
I think insurance companies have completely lost the plot.

About $560 for an 09 WH Laredo. And it's pay by the month with no extra for monthly payments. We do have a restriction on drivers, my wife & I are the nominated ones. Other drivers would have to pay a very steep excess if they have an accident.
