Default Byuing a welder

So I am looking to spend some of my tool grants before end of financial year. Pretty much have all the tools I need that relate to my trade so I might as well start kitting out my 'future' shed.

Looking at buying a welder and While I dont have a huge amount of experience I want a unit that will do as much as possible along with me as my skills improve. So after a lot of research I am leaning towards this one - http://www.cigweld.com.au/product/mi...ig-175i-plant/

It does arc mig and tig. I Can pick the kit up with gas reg, hoses, bag and accessories and also a tig connection as a free bonus for $1000 plus postage on ebay with 3 year warranty. Havent hit up BOC yet to see what they will do for me.

Does anyone have experience with this unit, do u think it will serve me well?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers

Can't say I know a huge amount about welders as I am pretty much useless at it. However my mate who is, reckons about 1k gets a decent piece of kit. I think his is CIG one, gas mig. It has a really high amps and it welds shit hot, really neat even with 8mm flat.

Regards A

IMHO I'd rather spend the coin on a good mig than on a multi machine.
I have arc & oxy setups, but they hardly get touched compared to my mig.
