Changed my diff! New Dana 35 in, old lunched one out. LSD is a bit knackered but the diff is super quiet. Will wait for oil to work in and see if LSD comes to life otherwise rebuild or truetrac or something...

10:30 start, Old crusty diff out by 12, all brakes etc swapped by 4, diff in, filled, brakes bled etc by 8 and ran. Good 10hr job...

looks good, I remember you selected carefully, (and did some super work on it...which brings me to my car detective work, and a warning to others)

turns out my vehicle has had a hit to the rear end, same as my spare.

when I was removing damaged metal from the tyre shred, came across mig welds, and green paint, and then i noticed it clear as dogs bollocks staring at me all this time,

TELLTALE slight deformation of main chassis leg just in front of towbar

they must take a hit on the towball, this one seems to have been repaired under insurance a long time ago, I would guess, the driver side D-pillar was mig welded, (not factory spot) but had detached after the latest incidence

oh well, she will never be perfect, did the best I could mig welded in new metal, and made sure water cant get in , fishoil everywhere too

my tailgate had no shims either, which I will need to make, have a post-update tailgate seal that is in very good condition, so hopefully will fit my pre-update, as my seal is degraded

tailgate bumpers all adjusted , chewed out pin replaced with used...NO rattle

My XJ has lots of vibes. So dropped the front driveshaft and the unis are bad. New ones coming from the states. Then changed the rear tyres with spares I have. Bingo. My big whallopping type of bouncy vibration is an out of round tyre. 2 new ones needed. Finally... Fixing things that I thought would never be fixed!
