I have been speaking to some of the locals who know of tracks that they use for shooting trips and so forth. Once I get some specifics and do the run I will map it and post the details accordingly with GPS refs.
Some of the guys also indicated they have some good tracks/areas on their properties and that a carton will secure required access. I just have to be careful that I dont end up on a mining lease!

Get yourself a copy of "Dirty Weekends in South East Queensland". Lists all the parks and decent places to drive.

Canarvon is not much of a hard 4x4 offroad thing... the place a must if you're a fossil-aholic though!
tour guide dude there has some makeshift bus with a spitfire engine too!

Just had some massive rains in the area so some mudslinging was undertaken. Found some QR tracks and some Ergon energy powerline tracks that were ok.
The AT/R's were not as good as I would have liked but not looking at getting MT/R's yet. Had myself in the Grand, 2 100 series, GQ patrol and a new Hilux diesel. All went well except the new hilux with the big overhang at the front and little tyres as standard (3 recoveries required)
