Default Transmission failure?

Hi all,

i have a MY08 JKU CRD AUTO.

Today I was driving on cruise control at 110 km/h.

The car was going perfectly as usual when suddenly the RPM went to the roof and the speed slowed.

Try to use the accelerator but nothing, was like in N.

The car stopped on the side of the road, engine still on...

I put the car in P and at least it was holding.

I tried to change to R, 1, 2 and D again but nothing...same same...like if it was N.

Then i moved the TC lever from 2H to 4L...nothing...apart that after doing this even the P position was not working anymore as the car was moving as when it is in N.

Towed to the mechanic.

He checked the tbar and wires etc...all good...

Has anyone had the same experience? Ideas?

TIA!

Since the parking pawl still stops the wheels turning, I am guessing that it's not something inside the transmission but instead it could be the input shaft or the torque converter. I'm no expert though, just someone who loves troubleshooting and guessing games
