When I was towing a 2 tonne Jayco up from Sydney to Coffs Harbour I did a bit of checking, transmission temps increased inline with the RPM increase when I tested manually selecting 6th.
I can't recall the exact numbers, it wasn't a big deal either way though. Neither was concerning.
If I remember right, the manual suggests manually selecting a lower gear if required to avoid hunting. Strongly recommend reviewing this if you haven't already.
