What gear do you tow in?

I tow my outback swan in standard mode with no issues, & will happily travel in 8th gear & it will drop down as required. Would definitely not tow in eco mode though!

I'll do my own testing once I get the chance but was hoping someone could give me their findings, especially with ATF temps.

When I was towing a 2 tonne Jayco up from Sydney to Coffs Harbour I did a bit of checking, transmission temps increased inline with the RPM increase when I tested manually selecting 6th.

I can't recall the exact numbers, it wasn't a big deal either way though. Neither was concerning.

If I remember right, the manual suggests manually selecting a lower gear if required to avoid hunting. Strongly recommend reviewing this if you haven't already.
