Default Swapping out JK Wrangler head rests

Hi gang, as the title suggests, I'm wondering if the anti-ergonomic head rests can be swapped out for a different make of vehicle?

Not sure about swapping them out. I'm sure I remember seeing someone had bent the support legs to change the angle though. Also, getting some neoprene covers helps cushion them a bit so it's less like banging your head off a brick.

Dunno about the later ones, but the 2010 looked like someone folded them forward and forgot to fold them back. Bent mine back a couple of inches and much better. Could still go a little further.

Task, there's something I don't understand in one thread you give someone advice that they should not breach ADRs because of the possible ramifications. But when it comes to your own safety you think nothing of wanting to swap out a piece of the car that was designed by vehicle safety Engineers to reduce neck trauma in an accident.

Why the disparity?

I've never had a problem with the headrests, in fact I don't recall ever rubbing my head against them when driving normally. Maybe you need to look at your driving position?

In answer to your question though, yes you could swap them if you find a vehicle with similar spacing.

I have short legs and a long torso. When sitting in the JK I found the headrest was way to far forward and on a stupid angle.

Yeah, the 2011 are the same SC!! Reading on the forums from the States that the head rests from the 2010 Grand Cherokee fit perfectly, as do the head rests from the 2002-2007 Subaru Liberty's. I might have to phone around a few wreckers and see if there are any laying around...

I can tell you that the bars are hard to bend! Nice long pipe over the rod, lay it flat on the ground and stand on the pipe right up next to the headrest. Swap pipe over to the other rod and repeat, only bending a little bit at a time and test fitting again. Might have to pull mine out again and bend a little more now I think about it.
