Hi all,
A new local Jeep dealership opened last year and a separate Jeep service centre opened not far from it.
When I first dropped into the service centre they were quite helpful & friendly.
My second last time was when my drivers side window kept coming straight down when hitting the auto up switch. They claimed that both front window operators have to be replaced and it would be around $900.00 for parts and around $300.00 for labour. They were to email me a quote. Dropped in there twice since........still no quote, however the window seems to have fixed itself in the meantime as it hasn't happened for a while now.
Not long after they opened, I asked them if they had a dipstick for checking the auto transmission fluid level. They claimed that they didn't, but a nearby service centre did. I dropped in yesterday and asked the same question.
The service guy first asked why I wanted it checked. I replied that I had done 40K since the last transmission fluid change and that I wanted to see where the level was at. He claimed that I should have it changed now as the service book states that it should be done every 40K.
Any thoughts from others on this???
Their reply was that they did have a way of checking the fluid level but it involved booking the car in the following day. They said they would need it for an hour as they had to run it, put it on their computer, then check the level. A total cost of $145.00 to me. WTF
Whatever happened to friendly Jeep service, or am I being unreasonable expecting them to do a quick level check??????
Cheers, Craig
