I have seen one on LPG down here in Melbourne. The tank was fitted to the back where the spare tyre sits and it hung very log, looked quite ugly to be honest. maybe they just went with a bigger tank, not sure. I'm guessing the only problem he/she would have is having to keep the spare tyre inside at the back as no rear swing away arms are available yet.

Cheer Vlad.

Hi vlad, once I find the kit, I actually want to have the spare wheel compartment cut so the tank doesn't drop too much. It would defeat having a 4x4 i it is going to be a street sweeper

Brighton Jeep were fitting Jeep approved LPG kits that were developed localy in conjunction with the Tech guys at CJD and Parnell Auto Gas. Parnell has since been bought out but the kits would still be avaliable. The tank was a doughnut shape fitted to the spare wheel hole and was only small.

Default KK with LPG fitted from new.

My KK was supplied new with LPG, I insisted as I've already done over 50k in the first 15 months. Frankly I can't justify wasting so much money feeding that thirsty engine dinosour soup @ $1.45 a litre! I know it's not a simple comparison, but I can walk out of a well known fuel outlet with essentially a free loaf of bread & 2ltr milk and only pay 54.9 cents per litre. My wife's little Peugeot gets similar running costs (but no free groceries).

Before ordering I researched the net and by phone and found that Jeep in Europe offer LPG as a factory backed option, so I had the dealer oranise it through a nearby installer that does that brand. Prins I think, give me a day or two and I'll post more details and photos.

Anyway, it has been perfect! I don't think it's fair for me to mention this but it would occasionally splutter if I let it sit for a few hours and start up again. Basically it was seeing that the temp was still warm and go straight to LPG, when really it should have remained on unleaded for a minute or so.

This only happened after rolling out of the showroom and was corrected by adjustment at the first 1k service and has never been seen since. So I highly recommend this LPG installation.

I'm a little ashamed, but I often chuckle smugly when I see my KK cousins on the road burning liquid gold.
