If she accepts my offer I could have it in my shed as soon as the end of next week. Then it will be a matter of assessing the cost to get it pit passed. Really hoping the oil filter adapter is not leaking. I really don't want to bust my Teng torx bit cracking those bolts. I'm almost thinking now I have offered $299 too much....lol.

Regards A

I think Bruggz paid $200 for his.
Crack that bolt when the engine is warm.
Looks like I will now be bringing extra tools..Ha Ha.

Could be worse. I made a guy at Jambo an offer on his XJ I don't really need. Ah well. couldn't help myself I suppose. Don't tell the wife.

I am slightly concerned about the 2 or 3 extra problems that were only sorted when the update came out are not really an issue because its a pre and I am not completely familiar with this model. Fairly certain it's a Sport. And it looks like the suspension might be ok because it doesn't appear to have a lean.

Regards A

Be aware Darkside that there are two variants of the 96 OBD2, one uses OBD1 sensors and the other uses OBD2 sensors...

AG, glad to see you might be back, as for your pre-update, (assuming un-modified) if it has cloth trim it will be either a Sport or a Classic, if it has cruise control and woodgrain dash fascia and wide body moldings (approx 130mm) then it's a Classic, if the body moldings are narrow (approx 60mm) then it's a Sport, if it has leather and ABS it's a Limited.
Always go by the build date (small brass plate) for id'ing it, also as I mentioned to Darkside there are two variants of the 96 regarding which sensors they use, some use the cheap and easily found OBD1 sensors, the other uses the OBD2 sensors, it's just a difference in the connectors.

Also, no immobiliser issues in the pre-updates!!!
