Regearing made the biggest difference, getting the final drive as close as possible to a stock Limited is worth it....

When I first bought mine it would get 14l/100 at 100kmh but slowly I managed to get it down to 12l/100 at 100kmh, it'd jump noticably at 110kmh, now I get 11.1l/100 with gear in the car at 110kmh....

It will be interesting to see how it goes with the camper trailer on next time I get the chance to measure it...

What size tyres are you using?
What gears are you running?

Had a new windscreen fitted today. My crack was growing on a daily basis. It was halfway down my screen within a week.

My XJ has had 35" tyres fitted on rims with a 3.75" back spacing with a 5" lift and bushwacker flares. A year ago, i received a defect notice. (Jeep is now unregistered). I put together a plan to get it engineered with a lane change test. I wrote to a few engineers and they basically talked me out of it. I am now shrinking the car and have submitted the forms to dept of transport for consideration.
Yesterday morning i drove up town and picked up a set of 5 original XJ alloy rims with 5 235/75R/15 all terrain tyres as new. Cost $500. This puts my XJ back into the "legal" department as far as tyres go. 235's are 0.6 larger diameter than my max placard size of 225. This makes my XJ about 6-8mm higher. I can now raise my suspension 40mm and still be in the 50mm legal max height increase. I did this because i have ACOS, which raised the front by a minimum of 38mm when installed on minimum. Now i can install standard front springs and 40mm after market rear leaves.
Today, i fitted the 235 tyres and standard wheels. XJ now looks like a gypsy caravan with those small wheels tucked under the bushwackers. BUT, she is on her way to getting re-registered. My engineer says the ACOS should be OK, but he is unclear on my ARB lockers which can only be turned on from the cab, and can be turned off. I pointed him to section 2.3 of VSB14 section LB transmissions. He is going to look into it. Another engineer i talked to in WA said there was no way they pass any lockers. Bit of ambiguity here, but i hope to get it all sorted out......

Did you have to replace the rubber around the windscreen?
And what was the damage on that.
I ask as the rubber on my windscreen is rock hard and split and I need to replace it.
