I fitted side steps to my newest jeep. They were the ally step type. Made up new brackets so they also bolted to the bottom edge bit of the seal panel with the existing torx bolts. They are a little higher than the standard fitting. Cut a couple of inches off them as I have front mud flaps.

Me either, but a well timed and properly thought out F bomb can make a world of difference some times...

Was checkin out an aftermarket keyless entry system today.
Didn't get too much done, too bloody hot in the shed...
.. anyhow, I came to the conclusion, that the kit must be used in it's entirety. It cant power the jeep lock motors. I realise they are run through relays. But the pi55y aftermarket ones aren't, and I thought I might get away with it, but no.... .
On another note, my lift is postponed. I'm having a kidney removed next month, and don't fancy climbing into a lifted Jeep...
Soon.........

I have a set of genuine pre-update side steps off the car, the exact same ones as on mine here if you wanna put them along side your car to see how they look....

Sorry to hear about the kidney, as for the keyless entry, I have been using an aftermarket kit for over 10yrs in mine, all that's required is two relays to interface between the kit and the stock wiring, just disconnect the door switch...
The 12v.com has easy to follow diagrams on how to configure the relays...
Good luck mate...

You will probably find that climbing out of a conventional car is going to be harder than getting into a lifted jeep. Your backside will be at about the same height as the seat & there is little up or down movement.
Good luck with the opp!!
