I know bjm has had his stumble (nice description)

Anyway two things, the Tridon relay has two contacts that go together to pins 87 & 87a, as it would conduct current equally, so if I put a female socket in the recall base for pin 87a and join the wires underneath from pin 87 then that should spread the current load

The other is VV have a fuse box jump across to make the fuel pump run. I am just about to have a look and see if I can adapt that and run the car for a while to see what happens

Just doing this as I am still hesitant to jump to earth with the parallel relay

With SC codes it sounds more like the bcm is the one playing up, it’s just painful all the interaction between the modules, bring back the kiss principle

Its a bit like that with many things I'm afraid .......... Off topic but few years back my solar HWS croaked, the Solar HWS plumber arrived after 3 hrs of burning my money he admitted defeat, best option was replacement.. $2K, Thank you send me the invoice....... My view was its a big radiator as being a frost proof job the heating was done by coolant and a heat exchanger cooked the water in the tank. pulled the whole thing apart cleaned out the debris from a couple of valves which was the problem, rebuild the system and all sorted then the heat exchanger crapped out 10 mths later, $1800 to build a new one out of copper, lol, lol, found a stainless steel pool heat exchanger in adelaide, so $175 later, a slight mod and the HWS was better than ever, really cooking ........... sometimes it requires looking from a different angle before using the BiC lighter............. or 2lb 'er ....

Is that a help, I doubt it but gives me resolve to fix another bastard job Ive been putting off.........

Forgot to mention, when I got home I checked for codes using AlfaObd - no codes, but did show 'fault found diesel bosch edc17c49cf5'. So, fuel pump...or maybe not, maybe something that's affecting the pump's operation. Back to square one- relay? Cleared it, then it showed 'no faults'. I'll have a chat to All GC when he's back after Christmas, get his opinion.

I have resorted to obtaining a used but guaranteed working TIPM. I should have it in a few days and see what that does. Google Jeep Grand Cherokee TIPM problems, quite a list related to the TIPM which of course sits directly under and is connected to the fuses and relays and in my model also has the BCM 7 connectors attached. There are two circuit boards involved too so could be a tiny component playing up. I have added photos of my TIPM plates pulled down and a photo of one of the problematic PCB's.
