Default CJ swapping in a 4lt from a XJ

Hi I have a 1981 CJ and want to install a 4 lt from an XJ in it and convert it to run with a carby and get rid of the EFI .I haven't been able to find a write up on this any help would be great

Ask Dellows or Hadfield’s if they make a belhousing everything else should be easy as the amc I6 is a common engine with carb.

Thanks for your interest i wont need a bell housing i have ax15 5 speed and the motor motor and that gearbox were used in tjs so that not a worry.What i need to know is do i have change the distributor and coil set up and anything else. If i could find a write up showing the steps that would be the best.There must be someone out there that has done this before

thanks for that lead was a good start as you say looks like i will need a new distributor and coil set up so will start chasing that side of things up
Carby and adapter seem easy to get and fuel pump might have to be external. Ill keep looking thanks for your post
