I haven't done any fab on my Jeep for a while but I haven't bought any component I can make. Best tip I can give, and it's nothing new, spend more time drawing it up and measuring than fabbing and you cant go wrong Another tip for steel parts is to score the back to thin it out, bend the part and then weld up again, easier than cutting into individual parts and then welding together.

Anyway, couple of pics of my stuff.

Winch bar, rock sliders and roof rack.

Rear bar and carrier

Drawer system with fridge and inverter

I've built a three drawer unit, fridge slide, parcel shelf, on board air using a cheap $100 240v compressor tank and pressure switch and a large 12v compressor/pump. I too have an inverter with a 240v charger that is hard mounted to the aux in the boot which can be isolated from the first aux under the bonnet. That way I can have a fully charged 100ah battery if I go on a long drive. Plus an 95% charged 75ah one under the bonnet. All that I did myself including a custom battery holder under the bonnet for the first aux, which has a 400a Jaycar override switch with 2bs cable so that I can run the aux and main at the same time when the winch is under load.
I plan to build a rear bar at some point and am on the lookout for a Hilux bar that I can slash the hoops off and shorten if necessary to fit the back of the Jeep. I have seen one or two in the past an the shape I reckon will well suit the XJ. Thee have been a flat main bar without approach angle pieces welded in, which I reckon will work better and easier than the one GoJeep has on his site. I can't weld so I won't be able to do a lot of the bar work myself. But hopefully someone around Launi can work on it with me.

Regards A
