Default 4wd linkage broken

Hi,

I recently bought my KJ 2006 model to do some desert trips in UAE and after my first off road test trip I went back to 2wd then I wanted to go to 4wd but the shiter felt loose.
I checked under my Jeep and found that the linkage got loose from its place below a picture:

Now to my question is there any improved way to reconnect it without taking risk of breaking again? Any solution done by you?
Also going from 4low back to 4wd high or 2wd high is very hard is this normal?
Sorry to drop all this questions but an expert advice will help me get rid of my fear of getting stuck in middle of the desert because of this issue.

Thanks for all the help.

Theres a guy on Gumtree Australia that sells a repair kit for this around $40 just cant seem to find the link Bought one in case I too had the same issue last year went to Jeep wanted about $300 to Purchase as you have to get the whole Lever and cable Its a complete set. I ordered a new cable from USA was $22 aust dollars and cost $40 to get it here in 8 Days then $110 to have it installed, still cheaper then to purchase from Jeep

Thank you Mark for the reply. I was checking that a brass bushing will be more durable and since I cannot wait to order any kit and get it to Dubai I will try to find the bushing and pin.
Will keep the post updated.
