Not all 4WD tyres are marked as LT, some manufacturers their LT tyres are road orientated treads for Light Trucks. The Continental Cross Contact AT as used on Land Rover Defender are a 235/85R16 not marked LT yet they are a good lasting tough all terrain tyre, its the reason why I looked at them for my KJ. Oddly enough the Continental Cross Contact AT 245/70R16 are marked as "XL (Extra Load (reinforced))"
The trouble is how a manufacturer determines what they want to call a "LT" as unlike speed rating, load rating there is not standards for calling a tyre "LT" or not.
