To get true manual select (well not 100% but way more then factory) it will cost you $300usd + postage to the USA. Best to send your TCM as he doesn't keep Diesel ones in stock.

No low range
Get Blue Driver it has good reviews & I'm 99% sure it works to get low range back. Other forum members are using it.

Thanks champ. I looked up the Bluedriver and when selecting vehicle it didn't option 3.0L CRD. Wondering what trim the CRD would come under. 3.7 6cyl or 5.7 8cyl ?

I don't believe the app requires you to enter the make/model/engine. It auto detects.
There is plenty of evidence about saying it works on the CRD.

I own a Maxidas DS-708 that does everything you can imagine. I paid over $1000 for it. It is amazing.

Recently, because of a forum member's comments, I bought a Bluedriver. I just wanted to play with it, maybe write a review, etc. I still have not written the review but will get to it. Right now I'm recovering from back surgery and cannot sit at the computer very long.

Well by shear coincidence, the day I got the Bluedriver in the mail, I got a 4x4 code. (C1417) I happen to know that most scanners will not detect this code.

Well, the Bluedriver DID detect it, and cleared it and the code has not returned since. That was about 5 weeks ago. It also detected a tire sensor problem.

It will not do all that the DS-708 will do...that is for sure... but in this case, it read the code and took care of it.

One thing I really like about it is that is is super easy to monitor the basic functions as you drive and when done it sends the PDF file to your pre-selected location. (I use Dropbox) My DS-708 will do this too, but it is not at easy...not even close. On the other hand, the DS will monitor a lot more stuff that the BD can't touch.

So, I would say, until you need more scanning and tweaking power, buy the Bluedriver and smile. Just make sure it works with your particular phone or other bluetooth compatible device. I use an IPhone 5, and it also works with my Ipad 2. I think there is a version for Android, but I'm not sure. With my DS-708 I always have to plug in a notebook size device that is powerful but rather bulky.

OH! On the down side, for some reason the Bluedriver causes my Uconnect phone system to fail. I have not figured that out yet, but when you unplug the BD the UC starts working again.

Is this what you had done along with your lower diff gearing? Also will the sequential auto still work when in "D" or it will be dedicated shift for gear changes.

Yes, purchased one of their TCM's with ratio, tyre size & shift point changes.
D still is full auto.

As I said, best to get original TCM flashed as his are mainly tuned for SRT8 Grand's & their shift points are higher up the rev range. Like 6000rpm lol!

If I drive it hard (foot to the floor in D) it won't up shift. Having original TCM done eliminates this.

I will get around to sending my original to them, must pull my finger out & get it done

Yeah that's what I want.... ie - to remain in a selected gear until I manually change it. I find it downshifts too early. I know it does it to remain at peak torque, but I am not always in need of peak. Would be better offroad as well. Lower ratios would be good, but mainly in the transmission. Low 1st, then 2nd to 4th as is and 5th 750rpm difference like the others. Alternatively, a nice 6spd exactly like the Ford Rangers auto. Very practical. At the present in 5th at 100kph I am at 1900rpm with the 32" tyres on.

Well.... not entirely WH, but my fridge malfunctioned. So after some fault finding it needed a new thermostat. So Ithought I would try one I found on fleabay that looked half well designed. After about a day of profanities, I rewired the whole unit and retrofitted the new thermostat which is all digital with multiple programs and setpoints should I require it. Oh and temp display which really makes it. The Waeco lives on for further adventures in the WH.
