I painted the rear chrome trim and grill black last night, it sat in the garage drying all night. Was raining this morning and all day so haven'd done the side strips yet. I've procrastinated over this for ages, however I really like the look of it black.

It’s looking good Grippy. The black on black works. I was contemplating the same but I think the chrome works better with the blue on my Jeep.
Here’s my lifted one next to a baby WK2.

Chrome on blue looks the goods mate.
You keen for another run sometime soon? I'm doing the Border Track in a few weeks with a mate.
Would be good to get a few Jeeps along too 👍

I'm still not fond of blacked out chrome, no offence intended Grippy, yours looks the business but it's purely a matter of personal taste. I can see the point of it achieving a certain look, but it does only work on a black car, would look awful on any other colour IMO.

A nearby neighbour of mine recently bought a new trailhawk (or is it an overland??) in all gloss black - everything. It seems to be crying out for just a bit of relief, absolutely no accents on it anywhere except the red taillight lens. Even if the calipers had been painted red it would have helped it 'pop', as it is it just looks bland.

All black. Each to their own. Not my taste, but as long as you like it that’s all that matters. To me it looks like the factory “poverty” pack where their isn’t the option of jazzing it up a bit, especially with black wheels. I also find it hard to tell what model it is when everything is black. Their is a black Ram and a black F150 getting around here, and from a distance you can’t tell which one it is. If they had a little bit of chrome then you could tell straight away.

Funnily enough my immediate thought was similar, my neighbour's one looks like a base model. In the olden days the higher the spec the more adornments you got. Thinking Belmont vs. Kingswood vs. Premier. Times change.

I've seen a few trucks and custom cars around in all black, maybe after the 'stealth look'. The difference is they are matt finished, no gloss, which does make them look pretty evil!
