My run 2 weekends ago up big sandy on the left hand track at five rocks. Choose HQ if you can. Gives a bit of a decent view at how soft and dry it was going up to 5 rocks. Nearly came to a stop right at the top but got there - can also hear a bit of scrubbing towards the end as well with the bigger tyres, only on the left rear does it scrub though.

Cheers

Possibly - The felt liner there doesnt seem to be too much i can do to stop it from rubbing a little bit on that - not too worried about that. After the run up the hill it turns out one of the lugs on the tyre must have caught a bit of the plastic on the wheel arch trim and popped it out of shape, so that noise you can hear would be the outside lugs scrubbing on the trim. I pulled the wheel off on friday and bashed that piece back in a bit more so hopefully wont catch anymore. I was in OR1 for that run as you go faster then 40kph for a bit of it and by time your below 40 your not really thinking about hitting the lift button, so that would contribute a little as well.

Im heading to a 4x4 park 60k south of rocky in 2 weeks, so thatll be a good tester to see how much it scrubs but should be right.

That looks amazing. You've confirmed for me that dipping the factory wheels will look amazing. Nice.

Did you remove and dip the whole weel, or just cover the brakes and dip the front of them? I kind of feel like if I'm going to the effort I should remove them and do it properly.

Yeah, this looks awesome. Will have to seriously consider it myself. Also been thinking of swapping out the grille, or perhaps getting the one I have powdercoated in black or something.

I've priced up all the parts and they're EXPENSIVE. I'm thinking I might plasti the chrome grille rings, foglight/tail light surrounds, Blackhawk style along with the factory 18" wheels and they will all be the same finish/level of gloss (which is one thing that slightly irks me about the Blackhawk).

I'm also thinking of giving a local product a crack, rather than paying for the plastidip cans here. http://www.evolvedcoatings.com.au/

Should all tie in nicely with a black Chief nudge bar when that is made available too.

Took the wheel off, sprayed it, let dry for 20 min, put back on. Then left it over night to completely dry so easy and really happy with the result. Since I have done it I its peeled off the tyres but has not come off the rims even in 40 degree heat!
