Retrofit Homelink overhead console
Has anyone done a retrofit of the US overhead consoles that include the Homelink garage remote buttons? From some Google research it looks like the Homelink transmitter is not tied to the BCM, so it should be a straight swap over. My garage remotes run on 433MHz, so it seems they would work correctly.
Digging around it seems part 5XU931X9AC is the overhead console for a MY14-MY20 black interior with power tailgate, Homelink and no sunroof.
Before I spend $400 on getting one sent over, I wanted to see if someone else had done the hard work of testing it to see if it's just that simple?
As an extension, I'm also looking to see if the sunroof controls are on their own board within the console. The intention would be to swap out the sunroof switches for some latching microswitches, 3D print new buttons, and then use those switch locations for accessory switches (driving lights, etc).
