Ok, here are the measurements on as flat of ground that I have; was sloping forward a bit.
Tires= 235/65/17
Front= 715

Rear=725

There might be a picture on my profile of my jeep from side on as well.
If I do already have a 2" lift, I'll be in two minds. Happy that I have it, but after looking at some of the easier trails around here, I might need a bit more clearance. I am wanting to go to a 245/70/17 tire. Maybe bigger? Not sure which one though. there just looks like I have a lot of space around my wheel well for more tire. Let me know what you guys think.

You should take the measurement from the centre of axle then we get a standard height whether they are 16 or 17" rims.

Curse this thread, I haven't a clue , mine is rim to body 725r 705f and centre to body 505r 485f with 16" rims so I think I may have a 40mm lift, put some Ironman springs with OldManEmu shocks a few years back, springs still okay but might go some new shocks .

The figures above were done when I put my new springs and shocks on in 09, Jeep now at home so ran the tape over it and it's sagged about 4mm.

I have the IRO 3" kit, 17" rims
the front from the bottom of the rim is 760mm and 530mm from the centre of the rim
rear is 775mm from the bottom of the rim and 540mm from the centre

It sounds like 700m is standard. I am going to guess that I have a factory lift that has sagged a bit because there was no mention of a lift when I bought the Jeep. This makes me think that I am going to want a 4" lift. I liked the idea of a 2" lift from where I sit now, but I am glad I saw this thread as I would have been a bit upset if I bought a 2" lift and only got a centimetre of lift. I am still open to be told that I am wrong. I would rather like to be told that I am wrong and that I still have room for 2" in there.

I think to a degree the issue of getting a lift height from where you are now is not totally straight forward as with the age of the WJ/G very few will not be sitting on sagged original suspension. Also bear in mind trying to get a (for arguement sake) 2" lift over the original upcountry height puts you into the realm of possible handling/DW issues compared to getting a 2" lift over the standard suspension height. I see no evidence that the geometry of the upcountry vehicles is different to the standard vehicles hence you are looking at the possible issues of lifting 3"+. Also bear in mind some of the less knowledgeable suspension resellers and even some of the main suppliers might not even know what model their original lift specs are based on.

This issue is also with the 80 Series Cruiser. The first generation to 93 was 1" higher than the rest yet you will not likely find a suspension shop that can tell what their lift heights are based on.
