Yeah going to put this on my list of things to do whenever buying a used car from now on. You just can't tell how bad they are until you rip them out. Did the missus Volvo last weekend, they were completely shot!

What do you mean by 'fill them'?

Had my engine and trans mounts installed yesterday. This is one job I'd definitely recommend take to a workshop. Even on a hoist with a myriad of tools it still took them a good half hour to an hour to get that one ****ing bolt out! Top rear drivers side. Also took them about half an hour and a lot of levering to get the drivers side engine mount realigned to get all 4 bolts back in. 2 to 3 hours all up.

The old engine mounts were well and truly rooted both sides. The trans mount wasn't bad, but of course swapped it anyway.

The SKP engine mounts from Rockauto fit no problems, well except for difficulty manoeuvring with the engine to get all the bolts to line up, drivers side was the most difficult, but this would have been the case regardless I think.

The DEA trans mount from Rockauto required a little grinding on the body of the mount to fit, both on the front edge that butts up against the transmission, and the body of the mount which was hitting on one of the trans bolts. Nothing a little grinding can't fix but pita all the same.

So that's that job done lol!

Totally doable with basic set of tools, floor jack and few timber pieces.

US and AU mounts are exactly the same for 4.7 engine.

The details for the mounts I used for anyone interested;
SKM3008 SKP Front Right Engine Mount
SKM3012 SKP Front Left Engine Mount
A5281 DEA/MARMON Transmission Mount 4WD (52058996)

The SKP mounts required no modification. The DEA transmission mount did, both to flatten the edge that mounts against the transmission, and also to clearance one of the transmission housing bolts. Google there is a 30min installation video that about half way through shows the edge that needs to be flattened, do this with an angle grinder and a flat edge ruler first, then when fitting up you'll see where you need to clearance a little for the bolt head.
