'96 Keyfob Unlocking behaviour ?

Hi fellow '96 owners.

I have a fault that seems to be somehow related to the system that controls locking/unlocking using the keyfob.

Normal behaviour...upon clicking the lock or unlock button on the keyfob,
the hazards will flash 3 times, and inside lights come on

various intermittent behaviours

* with PS door open, hazards will flash for 30secs (common)

* doors will lock/unlock without any action from me, or even key in ignition
(fairely rare)

*hazards flash continually (and can only be stopped by locking and unlocking with remote repeatedly (luckily this is very rare, cause it overides indicators, and I only just found out how to stop it)


What does your '96 do when you click the keyfob buttons ?

cant answer Tony the battery in my keyfob has been flat for years but you had to aim it at the little dome on the overhead console maybe the battery was low then? I might get a battery and find out?

I think my 97 is different
I have fixed some recent weird symptoms with the lock/unlocking system though, which traced back to the power window switch in the passenger side door,believe it or not. Took quite some research and time to find that one out..
