I do drive it Jimmy... but I'm also looking for any competitive edge I can get.
You can't turn a blind eye to physics, or even to take a leaf from the highest performing rockcrawlers around these days... of course these are buggies.
If you want to compete with full tube buggies, you have to do everything you can to squeeze a bit more out of your rig... and that's what I'm doing! A couple of kg's is nothing, but do that 20 times and there is 40kgs... and that is something.
I'm sure you would appreciate my goals Jimmy - I don't want to spend a crap load more cash on my rig right now, but if I can improve performance by stripping weight and doing simple stuff I am gunna do it.
Sitting back saying "I won't try to make my rig any better, I'm just gunna wheel it" will get you no-where.
Alloy radiator?? No idea what it would cost - drop Pete K a message and I'm sure he'll let you know. It is smaller in every dimension than a std TJ one, better heat removal, and quite a bit lighter. Also has a thermo fan which gives you an extra few horses by removing the power starving viscous coupling fan on a TJ.
Thanks again for all the ideas guys, I'll be putting some in action post WE Rock round 2...
