Cheers Alex exactly right!
If it wasn't for my LED Light bar and Cubes I would get a better result sitting on the bulbar throwing matches in front of me!
As I said Headlights vs Bulbs ?
I looked at the 97 FSM last night and still don't know what the extra wires and plug near the airbox are for? I will just wait until I get the harness and pull the front apart and test some wires for constant power I don't want to splice into the parkers as I would have to turn them off and on all the time .....F That!
Maybe Led Bulbs are the go in the stock headlights are the go? If my reflectors aren't too bad with the new harness I could even run some cool looking blue xenon bulbs Like I said more Beer and Research needed!

Used to be a TV campaign in the 90’s for highway driving in the holiday season - “Light Up, And Live”.

relays are essential imo, brittle old factory wires, switches and connectors
shouldnt be carrying full headlight current in any case
Those LED replacement bulbs look interesting..cheaper too...are there any "reviews" of them, such as on Amazon?
I vote you get them, them report how they are, and if they are good, I will get them
mine are bright enough, and still even have the factory? plastic protective covers...they are all scratched, so I probably should take them off

I wouldn’t waste money on LED bulbs. They really don’t do a lot when placed in a housing with reflectors designed for halogen. Trust me, I’ve experimented with them all ! I went from standard to halogen to HID to LED bulb and finally LED lights. Full LED replacements better than anything else. You don’t need to spend $800+ on JW Speakers, Truck Lites ect... get a generic no name and make sure they have 5 watt real led’s. There are many on eBay right here in Australia that comply beautifully with ADR’s and have the correct high beam, low beam and parking lights.

I just jumped on Ebay and found an Ozzie seller selling the H4 wiring upgrade kit complete with all the fruit for under $20 delivered.
I will take before and after pics of the difference in lighting.
If it brightens things up, i may just stick with the wiring upgrade mod for now.
Very happy with my whole XJ at the moment, but this upgrade has been in the back of my head for years.
Cheers,

i think go jeep has a write up on a DIY loom.
anyways i made my own, 140/90 bulbs put out lots of light. and no voltage drop.
i agree with the DRL, and wired my own in to pin 87 of the asd relay then via a second relay that switches them off when low beam is on.
i like it cause i can see what is going on with the asd relay.

I am going with the fuel pump relay so my small LED running lights come on automatically with the engine running only, day or night
