Default Dual Battery Charging

I am considering a battery charger for my second battery, given my vehicle sees not much use during the week and some weekends.

Particularly, I have my eye on the Ctek MXS 5.0. Its seems reasonable value for a low amperage charger, and has some good options with charging cables and attachments etc.

Question is, Would I be able to use the Ctek MXS 5.0 on my start battery (under hood) in order to charge both it, and my second battery in the rear of my vehicle, which is connected to the start battery via a Ctek D250s?

Cheers

Hi TCF,

That is exactly the setup I use. We have a 100amp second battery in the back with a D250s sitting next to it. Not the daily drive so when we arrive home just hook up the 5amp ctek and forget about it. Just remember to leave the hood up as I almost reversed out one day before un hooking.

Default Dual Battery Charging

The Ctek MXS5.0 I ordered arrived today. Very happy with the quality and the 8 stage charging is great.

Hooked it up to the start battery straight away and my aux battery also started charging via my DCDC charger. Pleased with this result, for simplicity of keeping batteries topped up.

Hooked up to start battery
