I love that airbox, ando whats it like for an offroad rig? Is it heavy duty enough?
(i mean with dust)
It would allow great air flow combined with the same size snorkel pipe.

Better than the maze the safari or tjm snorkel create anyways lol
Have had the heep thru mud and a fair bit of dust behind vehicles (but nothing like Cap York bulldust or anything of the sort), and from inspection can see no sign of dust/dirt getting thru the filter.

The filter is of the same construction as K&N re-usable filters, which some will swear by but others will have stories of dust getting thru.

If I was doing the cape, I'd probably sort out some sort of pre-filtering, but my heep will never see the cape, so I dont care.

Im a bike mechanic and ive had a lot to do with K & N and ive never seen them leak dust, there just a pain in the ar@# to clean and oil
Compared to uni filter that is.

Are you guys still looking for a stainless welder near brisbane area?

The guy I know Tig's stainless, titanium, alloy, whatever you need, he is very very cheap, and his work is second to none, allot of the custom shops such as thunder road performance, tricky weld etc, use him...

He is a fabricator by trade so can fab up anything you need as well...

Does anyone know of a fabricator around the Brisbane area that has done or will do a stainless snorkel for a TJ?

also, as i have a K&N setup at the moment, would the advice be to:
a. down grade to the stock setup to make use of the box
b. incorporate the existing K&N plumbing
c. attempt something like Ando 13's build here http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...d.php?t=110194

unfortunately i dont have the skill or equipment for the fabrication.

cheers

i have a jp mark snorkel ( option c ) that i may be persuaded to part with for the right coin .
