Default TJ Rear Bar build-up

Due to the fact the long rang fuel tank for the 5spds don’t fit into the 6spds I designed up a rear bar with assistance of dad to hold 2x 20L fuel cans.
So over the past 2 moths we have been building a rear bar set up for the jeep as CBF spending $$$$$ for one.

Rear Bar project

Design I made up in Google sketch.

1st one is the ruff what I want to do with it and the 2nd is my finished size reference how the main part of the bar will be.

Bar an pivit on wheel axel thing (same as ARB do it)

The can holders bolted on ( They bolt on and off and the wheel holder slides back with the wheel when cans are not on the car for around town )

Rear bar nearly done. Going to finish it off this weekend with dad and get it all finished test fit to car I will take more pics, then she will get some paint on her.

Very very sexy

I would like to make up something similar to replace the JBitz bar in the near future.

Oh and I would have hinged it the other way, my rear bar also swings to the left but is a pain on any incline as either the door or the carrier hit you in the arse when getting in the back of the Jeep.

Looks very nice, however- those rear recovery loops look deadly- they should be solid right through to the chassis not just welded onto the outside of the box, if you look at any of the commercial bars available the recovery loops are ALWAYS solid right through and the bar welded around them. look at Steve's XJ rear carrier to see what I mean.

Overhead console looks sweet- how heavy is it?
