Its all a compromise. Sweet low COG will result in less belly clearance comoared to same setup with more spring lift. Hence why rock crawlers have systems to raise and lower suspension height via various methods.
A sweet setup would be to have all aspects of LCOG (guard lifts, high clearance belly, long droop suspension) plus have variabke hieght control, like Wooders AirRock suspension to give you the ability to provide better ramp over angles, and approach/departure angles comparable with big lift vehicle.
As for anyone arguing LCOG as being cheap, well then they havet addressed fundamentak fkaws wuthstock vehicle components to provide better articulation and strength; in fact LCOG built would probably cost more or at least require more fabrication.
