I have the same issue on my jeep, i think i have narrowed it down to either the glove box or the rear door/window not locking right for some reason.
How do you deal with it? I have both of my battery permanently disconnected if I don't use it for a couple of days. Quite annoying though. I hope the multimeter helps to isolate the issue.

I rarely drive it, its just a weekend car (or mall crawler when i need more space ) and i have a second car for my daily driving, currently i just disconnect the battery until i use it.

I do exactly the same. It sits in the garage all week long and only take it off on weekends. Was not much the last couple of months and just finished a paint job. I still have to replace my steering box bit then I hope that I can finally go on a weekend trip.
