Default TJ regear quoted price

Hi everyone, long time lurker who finally got a Wrangler TJ. Was quoted $3,200 for a regear from 3.07 to 3.73. All parts included. Seems a bit steep. Any thoughts?

Both ends? Parts and labour? Seems reasonable.

Yep - it's not cheap.
You could save a few bucks by sourcing the parts yourself but then some installers may not want to put them in for you - can also lead to problems if something goes wrong later on.
Do you know what brand R&P you are paying for?
Prices on different brands can vary dramatically.
I have Nitro R&P which aren't as expensive as some but have been great (6 years and counting).

What size tyres are you going to or are running ?
Year and auto or manual.
Its alot to spend for little change gear wise.

Its a 2005 6spd manual. Will be fitting 31inch tyres. I actually bought it for my son. He is now 3 years old so will be driving it until he gets his license [emoji16]

That's ridiculous price if you ask me.

Have a look at morris 4x4 for the gears, then you should be looking around $400 a diff in labor to have them changed over, admittedly the AUD has died over the last few months which always ups the cost.

Make sure you grab some inner axle seals while you are there buying parts, I would also suggest a rebuild kit for the diffs as well and do all the bearings and seals while the thing is open, will only add around $100 a diff
