Unhappy drivers side seat belt buckle

Hi, first time poster.

I am restoring a 2000 jeep XJ cherokee classic and have removed the seats trying to chase on the drivers side seat belt buckle where the black wire and connector connects to, if anything at all, and I don't want to rip the carpet out if its not necessary. Cheers Rob

Seat belt wire on my TJ has been disconnected for over 10 years.
I don't drive without a seatbelt but it's nice not having the seatbelt alarm chiming prior to buckling up.

Thanks Wes, I am trying to determine whether its why my ABS light is staying on, but wishful thinking it is that lead. Cheers for the information. Much appreciated
