Put the head under the bonnet and with torch looked at some of the things pointed out in the vid, some finnicky finger stuff for sure, I think I would like a stage where I could lay down on and play with engine from, certainly be easier than bending and stretching and since mine has red dust, brown dust and sand everywhere a good wash down first would be a must for sure, sand not all from beach either ............ While I would prefer to give it to a workshop you can bet your dollar it will end up in mine if I happen to be one of the unlucky ones, would be super careful as no place for parts for bluddy miles around here........... I have all the tools needed including my picking up craw and magnet on a stick, I used to use McCaffertys luggage labels to label big bits but have run out and litttle calico bags that they use on aircraft for nuts and bolts all tied to the part, never any it rolling under benches or left over, along with a white paint pen if things needed numbering...
All in all I don't want to go there at all....... Glad its all back in working order now Russel, did you say where you got the hose bits ???

Hi guys, have read on another jeep forum that FCA have replaced the turbo coolant hose as goodwill on 14/15 models. Worth a try if you have a problem.

By the way I have traded the Jeep on a new patrol, to early to tell if it was a smart move or not.
I do have a spare new alternator for sale cost me $375 from memory, ryco fuel filter and air cleaner element if anybody is interested.
regards russell

I reckon you will like the Patrol just find a good mechanic in MaryB to look after it, can't think of the name my mate up there reccomends but he says far better than dealer, he used to be a must be dealer bloke until he saw the light.

Saw this too - seems to be at the discretion of Hobart Jeep (who the poster said has completed all servicing for the vehicle’s life), rather than a directive from Jeep Aus. Not sure this will be a common thing moving forward, but fingers crossed.

Default Am at a loss

I would suggest anyone attempting this job is to remove water pump first so you can have a good look as I found out that I don’t appear to have this hose under the inlet manifold

There was a model change in 2013, basically if you have the 5 speed you have an oil cooled turbo, those with the 8 speed have a water cooled turbo... so if yoou have a coolant leak in a 5 speed it aint the hose from hell.
