Default Correct high beam wire for driving lights switch?

Hi all, just wiring up some driving lights and wanted to double check I had the correct wire and if it's the best spot to splice in the switch. I am thinking this orange/red wire, just above the splice which I believe is for the high beam indicator light. Look correct?

Why don't you pick it up off the three wire plug on the back of the globe?
One is earth, one low beam, one high.
Far easier.

Then I'd have to run a wire back into the cab for the switch and then back out to relay? I've always done them this way and am this close now, just using the aus jeep resource before I snip. The old me would've cut first and cursed later

But I appreciate the feedback, and happy to be educated if there is a better way! (Whoa I really have changed!)

Seems a different way of doing it. I just linked into the hi beam at the relay under the bonnet and ran two wires inside the cab to the switch. I believe there is a workshop manual on here on the home page with wire diagrams. A side note have you not upgraded the stock harness? It's almost a must....

Regards A

Got the manual and have used it thanks mate. And upgrade is on the to do list, just waiting until I get back to work next week to get a few parts I need off a mate. He is an auto sparky and suggested I use resettable circuit breakers rather than fuses so I don't ever lose lights completely, and he's got a couple to give me.

X2 on taking it from the h4 socket on the back of the headlight.
You could run two wires through the fire wall a single run of 7amp figure 8 wire is physically quite small.
Or better still just run one wire from the relay ( under the bonnet) to the switch then to earth in the cab. Still one wire going through the fire wall.
So you are switching the -ve side of the relay control circuit rather than the +ve side, which is coming from the high beam on the h4 socket.
Ask your auto sparky mate about it.
