you'll need the ring and pinion set too, and look at the Reid racing knuckles made for your lift height

plus they might get a diff specialist to set the R&P which can be pretty pricey, plus the install kit and diff fluid etc etc

but let us know what they say, i'd be interested as I might get one sometime

Maybe ask about swapping out the rear axle shafts as well, I think they sell a product that significantly strengthens the rear to the point where they think a 60 is unnecessary

Also a lot cheaper.

Murchison looks like they'll end up circa $8.5k for a complete 44, according to their site. Not exactly sure how though, $3k housing, $1k locker, $1.3k axles, recycle outer D30 stuff? I'll enquire.

You will find murchisons is a rip off. Can you wait and have it sent over by container ship? You will avoid import duty since it's a USA made product

I got charged duty on an AEV roof rack, pretty sure that's USA made
How do you set it up to not pay duty?

Also, surely a local 5yr warranty is worth buying here for?

Northridge 4x4 Prorock 44

Looks like with shipping, GST, lack of local warranty and exchange rate you may as well buy within aus

If it were me i'd probably look for a 1 tonne axle in a wreaking yard somewhere and build from there with parts in aus, something like a smashed f 250

The sender needs to declare the item is made in the USA on the paperwork.
Warranty would be a smart idea, but you're doing well to break a PR44 I'm guessing

I built this thing in 2009, and imported almost everything on it and before many of the current guys supplying even were around. So I'm OK with importing, but only if it's significantly cheaper than the local guys. I can do ship. air or Foytts. All easy.

Thanks guys.
