Hmm, It sounds like they just changed the manual to say 2007 instead of 2011! I didn't realise the newer hard tops were slightly different shape but that makes sense.

I believe the only difference in the later tops is around the larger rear window....I'm not away of a change in the top of the roof.....but I haven't had the two side by side.....

That's my understading as well. They just made the rear window larger.

I believe the side windows increased in size also. They definitely originally marketed the backbone as 2011+ only when it was first released.

Incase anyone is interested, here is the current installation manual if you purchase the backbone kit, stating 07 onwards:

An example of how the mounts don't totally contour to the hardtop, this is a centre mount and the least likely one to leak, but still, it shows how it just isnt a perfect contour on an 07 top. The front and rear mounts had similar amounts of air gap. Nothing a little black silastic wont fix.

Not so keen on spending around $750 to purchase the 3 racks, I made up my own. If you see on the previous pic of the roof mount you will see I had drilled and tapped extra mounting holes (2 x 8mm threaded holes) as I just wasnt happy with the single 6mm tapped hole the genuine rhino racks mount to. Primed and ready for black paint:

Apparently I don't have enough posts or something to have the 'like' button yet.
But I'm looking at the backbone myself and that photo was exactly what I wanted to see.
Cheers!

If theres anything else you need to see let me know. So what does that photo tell you - you no longer want the kit? haha
