To get the double sided tape off, I used a Caramel Wheel. You can get them from auto paint suppliers.
Looks like a sanding disc backing wheel, just caramel (!) in colour.
Put it in a power drill and go to town.
Use caution tho! Too much pressure or spending too much time in one place will burn the paint or screw up your duco.....I might know a bit about that!

I used a heat gun and a rag
very bloody careful to not burn the paint but

got pretty much no flex but in another month I'll be able to do hand plants around corners lol who need a ute to go pigging just throw the big fella off the roof
