The remote sensor is on the ceiling just near the front between the sun visors on a sport or further back on a Limited. The circuit bourd is attached directly to the back side of the small black dome.
On OBI sytems, their is no data point.

Isnt the OBD plug the one at the bottom of the dash, just to the left of the column?...or is that something else?

thanx for the response fellas. Just to clarify the little circuit board is the BCM referred to in the workshop manuals etc. will have to check it out again just pulled it to see if it had power will have to try the workshop manual to see if the other tests they mention work out. I had wrongly thought it was a box type thingo more like the ecu. I have included pics of the circuit board and the overhead mounting point seems the manuals i have all refer to something else as I cant seem to make sense of it when looking at the actual parts I have anyone have any more info on these. thanx again

okay had the dash apart today in search of the BCM, its very scary back there behind the acres of plastic, miles of wiring and all sorts a things I hadnt expected! found a big silver box under passengers side lower panel (tranny Controller?) and a little one with motarola stickers velcroed next to the fuse box (BCM? maybe) also found little tweaters mounted to the lower panel where the speaker grills are suspect they are not factory despite factory looking plugs they were mounted with tech screws so I seriously doubt it (fell free to tell me I am wrong) they are not working despite complete looking wiring, another day I might have a go at em though just to see.
Attached some pics of all i found anyone able to confirm or deny my guess's.

The silver one is a TCU or Transmission Control Unit. If you have a Limited model, the tweeter are stock as they all had them. I grabbed a pair and put them in my Sport which did not come with them and they plugged right into the exsisting wriring and worked right off. I have no idea what the Motarola one is and have never seen it before on any of the ones I work on? I never heard of a BCM either so where did you hear about that? I have a factory service manual that is as thick as two phone books and shows every wire and color and junction on the whole XJ but have yet to see either? It is not mentioned in the huge index either? There is a mention of DRB scan tool ports but there are 5 of them with one each for ABS, Emissions, Fuel, Cooling and Ignition spread thoughtout the body. Want did you want it for?
