Well after much deliberation on the issue of going V8 or Supercharged I have decided to get it stroked instead
!
Well for now anyway.
I've been facinated at the hype the really well built 4.7 I6's have been getting over the years so I've decided to try it myself. I wont be doing the spanner work though as I'm leaving that in the hands of Zane at Jeep Engines Australia. He certainly has the best reputation and expertise in that field so why would I bother to re invent the wheel and build my own, especially when they give a 12 month warranty! We are looking forward to working with them.
We should have it all done within the next 3 weeks and therefore giving it plenty of run in time before Mopar Sunday (31st July)
Being a daily driver I'm hoping it should give me (besides more power!) some better economy and klms per tank, with the right driving methods of course! My Brute is my daily driver and week in week out I average between 375-400klms per tank regardless of what sort of driving I do so it should be interesting to see what the 4.7 delivers. Given the significant torque increase at every single rpm it should be alot sweeter to drive.
The current stock engine has 57,000klms or so on it at the moment so she's ripe for the picking.
The only little "extra" that she's getting will be the port and polish of the head - may as well while its off.
We're going to Dyno the vehicle as it is to get a base line for existing stock power then Dyno again after the new 4.7 is run in.
Looking forward to seeing this little 6 liven up......
