I do around 15'km a year without going on holidays so that's easy 3 services. Two of them i do myself, the major one my mechanic does but that includes all diffs, transmission and transfer case.
So my running costs a about double.

I'm talking mechanical costs, not rego etc as those are standard on any vehicle. The difference in running costs are really about the depreciation, repayments if any, and mechanical work and servicing. I have the occasional costly year but I'm now to the point that I did my own timing belt change last year, again educated by YouTube. So I keep the costs low. I do however make sure I pay myself for the work with a carton of beer.
I'd be interested to know how the block ended up cracked......
