Default Flogged out shockie hanger eye thingy

This photo is the top shockie bracket from the rear of my KJ. I have removed the shock and the bolt to hopefully show how the hole has enlarged a bit. This now allows the shock to flog up and down on just about any surface which apart from only getting worse, the noise is driving me nuts. It's like someone (Satan I think) is under the car taking to it with a lump hammer.

Suspension package is ARB all round (2inch lift) with JBA and Murchason gear throw around to.
Question is: How can I fix this? I was thinking welding a stainless steel ( for strength) washer onto it to hold the bolt in place. I will do all 4 mounts
thanks,

I have had similar before, It was due to the steel sleeve in the rubber bushing on the end of the shock absorber being a little too short, so it never actually tighten to the frame , because the bolt would bottom out maybe. not sure. I just put a washer in behind the the schockie, (between the body and shockie ) and tightened it up, rattle was gone. I just made sure the next set of shocks were good.

Couple of options I've used in the past for similar problems

* As @cmohr suggested ^^^
* Drill the hole a slight bit bigger and use a bigger bolt (you'll need a stepped bolt if the nut is captured)
* Weld a steel washer to the outside. I've found SS to crack sometimes dependent on the location/use hence suggesting steel which also makes it easier for the home DIY'er to weld it well and is easier to replace if/when needed.

Thanks Guys,
I tried to wedge a washer in but it was too tight. Looking at the welding a washer around the hole and I take your point dhula about the stainless steel.

Jeep goes in next week for a lower control arr recall so I'll let you know how I go after.
