I want the antenna to wind off right down at the base bracket. The bracket's going on the bonnet gutter so I need it to be as clean as possible while antenna is stored.
The pic you posted has a permanent shaft section for about the first foot before the rest of the antenna winds off just above the white sticker.
I admit I sussed out prices on the cb but went in cold on the antenna so I'll study up before I hand over $$$$'s tomorrow. I'll fill you in...

here's the link i mentioned the other day. They're in Perth but will ship overnight for 10 bucks. I found the TX3400 almost 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere i looked in Sydney

OK Billsta all fitted up now - I can give picks if you like.
Unit is fitted up under dash, face is as Wild tee said between gear shift and ashtray. Ashtray still works (used for holding trinkets).
Antenna is on gutter on drivers side of bonnet and is tha AE409L for $70.
Antenna is $1 dearer than your link WildT while Unit was $16 dearer (or $6 if you take off Transport).

I took some pics last Sunday thinking i'll post them up that night but i'm buggered if i can find my camera-pc cable. (i moved house a few weeks ago ) Actually i know how to find it, i'll go and buy a new cable and the old one will turn up a day later lol
I'll get them up as soon as i can.
