Nice cleaning job Piper, i bet that wasnt a 5 minute job with some magic cleaning stuff from autobarn. The biggest worry for me is how fragile the swirl flaps really are,i broke some of them when i made up the modified manifold, and they broke very easily while trying to remove them intact.
This is a hot topic for me as i still have not changed out the manifold with the modified unit. This slackness on my part is down to the difficulty of pulling all the wiring through the branch of the manifold. So my new plan is to cut the manifold branch off while its still in the car(taking major precautions not to cut any wiring!!!!).
This will give needed extra room and simplify the job.
I will post with pics when its done.

Discretion is the better part of valour. I'd be inclined to run some EGR cleaner through the inlet manifold though, It will help with some of the crud buildup.

You may be able to obtain access but it will still be an interestign job to fix this broken linkage I'd reckon.

First tank of fuel after doing the swirl vanes and it looks like I'm using about 1L/100km less.

JeanLuke thats good! I found after a few thousand kms after parking the swirl into the permanent open position no exhaust smoke at all at full noise. I think the small amount of blowby oil(since i have no catch can+egr delete) has helped to wash the crud out of the inlet system. Always good to hear a good result.

Gave my old girl a lift ( Jeep that is LOL) with some new Dobinson coils. It was supposed to be only a 40mm lift but the difference is huge, apparently the old rear coils where sagging a wee bit.
Before heights as follows -
LHF - 460, RHF - 450
LHR - 440, RHR - 435
After
LHF - 490, RHF - 490
LHR - 510, RHR - 510
I'd put some pics up but my phone camera is doing some wierd stuff at the moment in storage.

Only done about 40k's on it so far but am doing a trip to Hervey Bay and back tomorrow so will know more about ride then. But so far the ride is definitely firmer but the rear coils are 100kg constant for towing our van. Front is a lot better than it was but had to do a major wheel alignment which is somewhat strange as only done one 2 weeks ago.
