Just got to get new shocks now as old ones, which are less than a year old I think as were on when I bought it. They're el cheapo's, Commando is the brand. They are squeaky as all hell, found some Lovells on internet, any body know about them?

I was interested to see what you thought of the new springs as i was considering an upgrade myself. The old springs on the rear of WG 2.7 are a bit stiff with no load on board, but great when loaded up with caravan or just heading up the hills with all the "essential" chainsaw, beer, sleeping gear, food ,beer, tent ,tarps, shower tent, beer, etc, etc. Maybe lighter springs and airbags may work??? I think my current rear springs are the heaviest old man emu do. Its all 2nd hand stuff off a parts WG.
So i was looking at dobinsons web not long before you posted and noticed they do a number of springs for the WG,,,,also shocks,,,maybe their shocks would be good for your WG. I cannot find any info on the compressed and extended length,if i email them and get a reply i will post it.Are you petrol or diesel steelo25?

Well just did a bit over 700k's driving on the tar today, the springs where a bit hard to start but by the end of the day I'm happy with them. They corner good, potholes are easier as are kerbs, also the rough roads in Brissy suburbs, it IS a firmer ride but not overly. I'm happy with them but do have to replace shocks eventually. I'd recommend them for what I need them for, which is mainly towing but with some weekend fun.

4.7 V8, don't know if I'll go with the Dobinson shocks as I had them on my old WJ 4.0L and they where a hard ride.

OK, good to know.
I was trying to get a price and availability on bilstien 5100. I think the front are 24-185622 and the rear are 33-236957. These appear to have exactly the right compressed and extended lengths for a 40 to 50mm lift. Not so easy to get the dimensions for other brands of shocker. I want a bit more info than "suits 2inch lift", especially when forking out many hundreds for a set of 4.

The OME Sport shocks work very well and suit a 50mm lift.

Here are the lengths from some research I did a while back.

Finally got the buttons for lockers:

And since the exhaust shop kept whining that they can't do this, can't do that to tuck the exhaust higher, I got mad and did it myself. Had some v-band clamps and stainless 2.5 inch pipe from when I wanted to redo the exhaust on the XJ.

This is as high as I comfortably got it, about 15mm clearance to the floorboard:

35mm gained, it's no longer hanging lower than the crossmember and it's a tad higher than the standard rock rails:
