Default Noise from front?

Just replaced upper and lower control arms on front last week, then replaced both cv shafts (L & R) today because of noise issues. But after changing the CV shafts the metallic clackedy clack (LOL) noise when turning, and to a lesser extent when going straight, is still there.
Any idea's on this anyone? Seems I just spent 700 bucks for nothing [emoji848].
Mechanic is now thinking maybe brake pads are loose and rattling on slotted rotors? Which I only put on in April and I think that's about when I started to notice this noise.
Oh and it's an 03 4.7 Limited

Clackety clack like slapping a piece of flat bar on a anvil quickly or like ball bearings in a thick tin rolling around type sound?
Have you checked for play in the front hubs? DO you have the anti rattle shims on your brake pads? Rip em out and chuck a dab of thick grease on the back, that usually shuts them up if it's them

The bearings in a tin sound, still mainly when turning though (mainly to the right), but I could move the pads a wee bit with fingers. The mech reckons he will put some of that pad glue/grease when I take it back. Also there is no play in front wheels/hubs

Is your front driveshaft a cv job or the cardan joint?

It's a CV one, the mech reckons it's all right though.

Things I would be checking:

1/ Front hubs. Jack up the front and feel for free play. Put a hand top and bottom and try to rock the wheel. Repeat with hands front and back. You should not be able to feel any free play.

2/ Diff gears & axles. With the front jacked up and in 4L, rotate one wheel. The other should go the opposite direction. It should be smooth. Get a helper to add drag to the opposite wheel. Listen for noises and feel for roughness. Repeat with wheels turned. Go both directions on both sides. Have a good play and listen/feel for anything unusual.

I chased a noise in my WJ a few years back, it was a pain in the ass. Acted like a hub at first, replaced both, then both joints on front driveshaft, I became very quick at whipping that sucker out, it didn't disappear until I pulled the front diff and replaced the carrier and pinion bearings.
